Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Returns to Las Vegas
Crowds of cowboys and cowgirls will be decked out in western wear for the NFR competition at the Thomas & Mack Center Dec. 4-13. A majority of Strip resorts will be holding nightly functions, such as live television coverage of each day’s action, concerts, autograph signings and even free line dance lessons. For a “shop ’til you drop” experience, the 2014 NFR Cowboy Christmas Show at the Convention Center will be open daily, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Another hidden, gift-buying gem is the Roper Cowboy Market Place set up at Mandalay Bay with more than 300 vendors showing off their wares. Hours are also 10 a.m-5 p.m. During NFR, Silverton’s Veil Pavilion will be showcasing a couple of big-name country-western stars in free concerts. Mark Chestnut performs Dec. 5 and Little Texas takes over Dec. 12. Both shows begin at 10 p.m.

Julien’s Auctions will be holding a two-day public auction at Palms Casino Resort Dec. 11-12 at 10 a.m., An amazing collection of personal effects, career memorabilia and fine art work, all belonging to actor Burt Reynolds, will be up for sale. A free exhibition will be held Dec. 8-12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at the property as well.
